YOUR article headlined 'Electors' legal battle to unseat councillor' omitted one very important detail; that is for any group of concerned electors or candidate seeking to take on this task having to pay a fee of £400 and a bond to the courts of £2,500 for the privilege.
What price democracy? £2,900 for starters that's what! Is this right and proper?

This is not just about politicians per se, this is about the democratic process and the Representation of the Peoples Act.

It is ironic that in this case, the Representation of the Peoples Act does not represent the people at all. Indeed it fails the people, but may just be of benefit to the legal profession!
