How can this so-called Labour Government justify wasting £4 billion on having two aircraft carriers built, that by the time they are ready will be obsolete.

Don't they realise how many big ships were sunk by aircraft during the Second World War, eg Prince of Wales and Repulse, not forgetting all those lost at Pearl Harbour, and we ourselves destroyed pocket battleships with aircraft.

This £4 billion is needed to equip our armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan with the best of armed vehicles money can buy, instead of patrolling in jeep-like vehicles that offer no protection to those inside, more helicopters to back up the army and the main thing which this Labour Government forgets is big pay rises for all our armed forces who protect us and risk their lives doing so.

A BRITT, Dewsbury Road, Leeds.
