Think of the shareholders

With banks being taken into public ownership, and the cry from the left to nationalise many other profitable companies, it is not popular to say "what about the shareholders"

But what we must remember is, that a high percentage of the shares in these companies are held by pension funds and institutions that manage the private pensions of millions of private-sector workers.

Unlike the state employees, who can rely on their pension being funded by the tax payer, people in the private sector have to rely on the dividends paid to share holders to fund their future pension.

The private pensions of millions have already been decimated by this government's raid on pension funds profits, without any consideration as to the long-term out come.

So come on let's have a little thought for the not-so-fat-cat shareholders.
