Sniffing out a mystery

I raised a smile at Mr E Lister's letter (July 15) about the mystery stench in the Stourton area where he has just taken residence. "Smells like sewage" says Mr Lister, patently unaware that he has moved into an area boasting the massive sewage works which deals with the majority of Leeds's effluent!

I suggest Mr Lister does his research before moving next time. He was obviously unaware of the 'stink' that was caused when a certain Mr Peter Ridsdale suggested Leeds United should leave Elland Road for a new stadium in Stourton.
