Singing the blues away
I WONDER how many of your readers watch The Last Choir Standing – Saturday nights BBC1? Personally, I love it and I am like a wrung-out rag by the end of the show! It is fantastic.
I can highly recommend singing in a choir. I do it myself, with a great group of older women. I do seriously think that we should all sing; to alleviate the impact of the credit crunch, poor summer and general doom and gloom. I especially think that young people would benefit from singing in a choir. Singing releases endorphins (happy hormones), is enjoyable and entertaining.
If you are really lucky, you even get to perform in front of an audience!
Many of the choirs participating in The Last Choir Standing are either very young or quite old. They all have one thing in common; making music and enjoying themselves. So... I say, let's all start singing to improve our quality of life in these challenging times.
