Where have all the garden birds gone? During the spring and early summer my garden was visited daily by a large variety of birds including blue tits, long-tailed tits, coal tits, bullfinches, sparrows, greenfinches and many more, all wanting to feed off the nuts and seed which I put out for them.
Over the last few weeks however, my garden has been completely devoid of any birds. I've put food out for them but none has appeared. I appreciate that the young birds will have been reared and flown the nest and that the parents will not now need to seek food to feed their young, but surely the birds should still be around to make an occasional appearance? I would be interested to know whether anyone else has noticed a lack of birds in their garden or whether it is just my garden to which they have taken a dislike!

Mrs I Smith, Alwoodley,
Leeds
