TO motorists the roads and streets of Leeds are a nightmare. Without exception they are littered with potholes and depressions and even when these are reported there is little evidence of action being taken.

As well as causing damage to car wheels and suspensions, they are also a serious safety hazard. Perhaps the following lines might produce a better reaction!

Holey Roads

You find them here you find them there

You find these potholes everywhere

They sometimes mark them out in blue

Surely there's lot more that they can do

Some are small and some are large

They need to place a man in charge

He really must possess the will

The motorists nightmares to quickly fill.

You'd think they'd come with a scheme

To provide a dedicated team

So that when the next one is reported

They'd move fast and get it sorted

These mini craters would not be missed

And car owners could drive round in bliss.

K J Playforth, Roundhay, Leeds 8
