Once again it is Leeds Festival time, and once again we see the product of the brightest brains in the planning sections of various organisations.
Traffic backed up from the M1 junction through Crossgates on to York Road (and probably queues on the motorway) for many hours.
Tens of thousands of people in the local area not able to use the ring road, and many lorries not able to go about thei
r business because of what? A music event.
Does the supposed economic benefit to the local economy really outweigh all this inconvenience and cost to businesses who cannot work in the normal manner?
What happens to this mythical extra money that is swilling around? It is obviously not being used for traffic management.
Would any council member care to comment with some facts and figures?

AS a resident living on the Ring Road, Seacroft, I have had to endure non-stop traffic going to the festival. We have had games of football outside our property, constant blowing of car horns, loud music and empty cans and bottles.
This morning I have gone to do some shopping in Tesco and have had to walk out because there is so much mud on the store floor – it is disgraceful.
Why are the residents of Bramham and Thorner looked on as the ones that suffer, when they receive no traffic going through their villages, to the festival.
They are offered tickets for this venue for £35.00. What do we get? Disruption of our lives every August Bank holiday weekend.
The congestion is so bad we are unable to travel on our normal bus routes due to them re-routed.
