Hooligans met by the spirit of Dad's Army

Going to work, me and my colleagues boarded the bus that would take us through Hunslet and back into the city centre bus station.
Whilst on our journey, the driver told us that the during a journey through Hunslet the bus had been attacked and windows smashed. They advised us that we changed our seats and sat in a more safe position.
We did so and during the journey through this part of Hunslet someone started whistling 'Who do you think you are kidding, Mr Hitler?' Another lad was heard to mutter "they don't like it up them". We at the back decided to portray the vicar, saying "for what we are about to receive". Our journey thankfully passed off without any damage and we did arrive at the bus station safely.
In these trying times where public servants like drivers get a lot of stick I think it is appropriate to remember the dangers that they face to travel through Hunslet to have a window smashed, to cause not only damage but possibly injury to the driver and fellow passengers.
To the bus driver who got us there, thank you very much.
