Having just read the letter from Steve Mason (YEP, August 21) I think he must use the same GP as I do. I try time and time again to get an appointment, all to no avail.
Fortunately, I am not one to be running to my doctor at every little sneeze, ache or pain but I do need a review of my prescription every so many months and dread having to phone for an appointment, because if you don't phone before 8am you have no chance. Funnily enough I did once write to the practice manager asking her to explain the system to me, as it seems to change every time I phone. I did receive a phone call from her and an appointment was made straightaway at a time to suit me.

So maybe Mr Mason could try that, it might just work, always supposing he can get through.

MRS I DENISON, Farsley, Pudsey, Leeds.
