Don't select from the twit tendency

I TAKE issue with Ian Carnegie and his view that the Tories cannot win seats in the North or have what he describes as a revival. This is not true, but what certainly is true is that you cannot do either if you select complete twits as candidates.
I am a member of the Tory party and naturally always vote for Tories, but I would not vote for someone like Glenn Broadbent with his stupid and uncompromising views. Quite frankly, anyone who alienates whole communities and then tries to get out of it by proffering "I didn't think" as an excuse, deserves the result in Farnley and Wortley, which speaks for itself, not to mention the bad publicity which is continuing and admittedly I am adding to.
We live in an internet age and everything and anything posted online can be scrutinised. There is a simple lesson for the Tories here – do not select ignoramus buffoons as candidates. There are plenty of able, sensible candidates to choose from, so why pick a liability?
The real danger of choosing poor candidates is not winning the keys to No.10 and no single candidate or member, regardless of what they have done for the party in the past, can be worth that when the country is crying out for change.
