Bin collectors get it wrong
TWO weeks ago my black bin was not collected and emptied due to a strike of binmen.
This was accepted by myself.
The following day a letter came from the refuse department saying, leave your bin out next Wednesday (a non-strike day) when it would be collected.
The following Wednesday came and went with no sign of the binmen.
The following day I phoned the refuse department and got an apology and the request to leave my bin out a further 48 hours when it would be collected.
Again no sign of the binmen.
By this time I had resigned myself to my bin not being emptied until the powers that govern us are ready.
Two days later (Saturday and no doubt on double time) a bin van came round my area (joy), but it wasn't to be.
They were only emptying the brown bins which have only just been delivered to take grass cuttings, and which most people will not have used yet.
Where is the sense of wasting manpower and frustrating the ordinary council tax payer?
It appears to me that regardless of the rights or wrongs of the strike action, the convenience of the public is low on their priorities.
