A confusing state to be in

HELP! I'm confused about our country. I keep hearing that it is a nanny state, where the Government interferes in this, that and something else, then, often the same people, tell us that it is about time the Government did this, that and something else.
It's also a Nazi state, and at the same time a communist state, but it is also a wishy-washy liberal madhouse, run by these do-gooders and human rights types, where prisons are more holiday camp than concentration camp, more five star than red star.

The Government should keep out of everybody's lives, but they should bring back the death penalty, the birch, the cane and national service.

We are telling our politicians to stop interfering, and then to interfere, they must be as confused as I am. Help!

ERIC FIRTH, Wellington Street, Silsden
