The YEP has asked five Leeds fans to give us the view from the stands this season. Meet the people who will be predicting, and reacting to, United's results as part of a new twice-weekly feature

After suffering relegation last season, and with the departure of leading goalscorer Martin Patterson, it has been a difficult few months for cash-strapped Scunthorpe. United with several new faces on board, will be hoping there is to be no Wembley hangover, as they seek to justify their tag of promotion favourites.

I expect a fairly even contest with United just taking the spoils. Just a shame it isn't being played at the more traditional time of 3pm, but it's something we're rapidly becoming accustomed to.

Score prediction: Scunthorpe 1 United 2.

Another season, another preposterous kick-off time. United head for Lincolnshire unbeaten in seven pre-season fixtures in solid, if unspectacular, form. Cup final number one will be a good test of Leeds' credentials as the bookies' favourites for automatic promotion.

I expect Jermaine Beckford, Andy Robinson, Paul Huntington and the emerging Fabian Delph to have influential seasons.

Momentum was instrumental in our blistering start to last season and a positive to start to this campaign is essential for players and supporters alike.

Score prediction: Scunthorpe 1 Leeds 2.

Tomorrow will be Leeds' first league encounter with Scunthorpe for 45 years. The opposition are a bit of an unknown quantity as Scunny will still be smarting from relegation last May.

Our defence seems very settled but the midfield is harder to call as there are probably as many as 12 different players to pick from.

Up front we've got good options and I'd assume that Jermaine Beckford will be partnered by either Enoch Showunmi or Luciano Becchio. On a positive note, we haven't lost on the opening day since a trip to St James' Park in 1989.

Score prediction: Scunthorpe 0 Leeds 1.

Leeds should put the Wembley defeat aside and take the positive aspects from last season instead – getting to the final given their numerous setbacks was a fantastic achievement.

Scunthorpe have lost their regular keeper to an injury but I don't see this causing the home side a major problem.

The new players Gary McAllister has brought in have shown a few sparks and I hope Andy Robinson and Luciano Becchio will start tomorrow.

Enoch Showunmi has so far failed to impress me so I would prefer a bench start for him.

Score prediction: Scunthorpe 0 Leeds 2.

Well here it is. Another season is about to get under way. The Leeds squad looks stronger than last year but Jermaine Beckford is still the key in terms of goalscoring.

Him staying fit could determine if we achieve automatic promotion or have to settle for a play-off place.

Andy Robinson should give us the much needed width we have been lacking and it will be interesting how Jonny Howson develops.

Scunthorpe will challenge this term but with Beckford returning to the ground where he was so successful on loan, we'll edge it.

Score prediction: Scunthorpe 1 Leeds 2.
