Leeds United chairman Ken Bates has backed Gary McAllister and insisted there is no mood of panic at Elland Road after meeting with United's boss in the wake of the club's FA Cup second-round defeat to Histon.
Bates met with McAllister, club chief executive Shaun Harvey and technical director Gwyn Williams in Monaco yesterday to discuss United's campaign so far and the make-up of the squad at Elland Road.
The talks were planned before Leeds' 1-0 defeat to Blue Square Premier club Histon on Sunday, and Bates claimed he was satisfied with the club's progress this term.

Bates, whose club recently announced 14-month profits of £4.5million, indicated that resources would be made available for McAllister in January and also hinted at changes to the squad after questioning the "priorities" of individual players.
Bates said: "We planned this meeting long before Sunday.
"After the Histon game, Gary, Gwyn and Shaun came out. We analysed all parts of the club, all parts of the performance, the academy, and every player on the books.
"I'm not sure of some players' priorities and the manager is aware of some of the weaknesses and that will be rectified in January. There's certainly no panic. It was a very positive meeting."
