Pontefract-born stopper Sam Collins is set to be recalled for Hartlepool's trip to Elland Road on Saturday.
The former Hull defender missed Pools' cup victory over Brighton in midweek after serving a one-match suspension after being controversially sent off against MK Dons last Saturday.

Collins will partner either Ben Clark or Gary Liddle - who stepped in for him on Tuesday against the Seagulls - in the heart of the Pools' back four, with Liddle desperate to win the vote.

Clark remains the favourite to turn out alongside Collins, but Liddle hopes to have given boss Danny Wilson food for thought.

Liddle said: "I hope I have given the manager a selection headache and we will see what happens for the Leeds trip."

"Ben has done really well. Although he is known as a centre back, with his quality of passing and defensive work, he was the ideal choice to go in there and be that defensive holding midfielder.

"In the eight games he has played, he has been one of the top performers."
