ASTON VILLA are understood to have upped the ante in their bid to sign Leeds United prized asset Fabian Delph - by offering England Under-19 starlet Nathan Delfouneso to the Whites on a season-long loan as part of the deal.
Villa saw a big-money move for the teen sensation Delph rejected yesterday, with United also turning down a bid from a seperate Premiership club, believed to be Everton.

The Midlands outfit are now thought to have sweetened the deal by giving United the chance of taking highly-rated forward Delfouneso, 18, on loan for next term.

Delfouneso is highly-regarded by staff at Villa Park and the starlet notched goals in Uefa Cup defeats to Hamburg and Zilna last term and also in the FA Cup victory over Doncaster Rovers.

The Birmingham-born youngster, who has also represented England at under-17 and under-16 level, was named players' young player of the year and supporters' young player of the year last season.

What an absolute joke. We're either selling Delph or we're not, loaning someone who may or may not be bothered about playing for Leeds shouldn't be the deciding factor. Mind you, with an 'asset rich, but cash poor' Chairman, who's happier giving his money to solicitors rather than investing it in his own club, is it any surprise our talented kids fancy playing elsewhere?

Wow a real deal breaker there!

Win, win for Villa really, they are letting there player get the match experience, but we are the ones who would be taking the risks playing an unexperienced player. Plus if he is any good, he will be going back at the end of the season anyway!

We have got our own under 18 internationals, or we had them(most have either been poached or sold), so why would a Villa youngster be any different or any good for us?!

I could rant on about loyalty etc, been a white for longer then I care to remember, seen 'em come and seen 'em go, I would really like this lad to stay on but only if he wants the white shirt. Always thought well of O'Neill wanted him at Elland Road once, Fab could do worse.

If Leeds get over 6 million for him, I think it would be a great move for Fabian and excellent cash injection for the club.
Fabian is our olivier dacourt in the centre of midfield. And if i was fabian, growing up with ambition of playing for leeds united, i would want to stay at least another year or two to help the club progress.
He has only played one full season in proffessional football.
Aston Villa? If Delph gets a handful of appearances he will be lucky.
If Leeds dont need the money, then Keep Delph.
But i would understand if they sold him.
As for Beckford, why are we declining offers for him? if he wants out, Get Rid. He will go down hill after Leeds. Leeds United will be only ever be Jermaine Beckfords claim to fame.
I think he will stay another season, score 40 goals. Then he will sign another contract for the championship promotion charge.
