Leeds Uited target Danny Graham is poised to complete a move to Championship outfit Watford, writes Leon Wobschall.
Leeds recently made enquiries about signing the out-of-contract 23-year-old following his decision to leave Carlisle United and turn down a fresh deal.

And the Whites were expected to firm up their interest if Jermaine Beckford headed for pasture
s new.

Several other clubs, including Barnsley and Huddersfield, have also been linked with the North Easterner, who spent a loan spell at Leeds in 2006 and briefly played under boss Simon Grayson at Blackpool.

But new Hornets chief Malky Mackay appears to have won the race for Graham, understood to have agreed terms with the Hertfordshire club, who have also appointed ex-United right-back David Kerslake as new first team coach.

Carlisle are entitled to compensation for Graham as he is under 24.

It looks increasingly likely that the fre will be fixed by a tribunal rather than as an agreement between the two clubs.

Carlisle turned down a £250,000 offer from Huddersfield for Graham, who started his career at Middlesbrough, in the January transfer window.

Graham hit 16 goals for the Cumbrians last term - although his last goals came in January.
