Tonight we have a Euro Championship qualifier against Belarus that will cap off a very busy couple of weeks.
I can't wait for a break in the summer but obviously I still have some important games to go starting with this evening.

You will all have heard by now that we failed in our quest to win the FA Cup against Arsenal on Bank Holiday Monday.

We gave it our best shot but unfortunately and heartbreakingly it wasn't enough.

You have to hand it to Arsenal. They are a quality side and have proved it time and again. They are definitely strides ahead in terms of development and that shows on the pitch.

The Arsenal men's club have taken them under their wing and supported them through kit, facilities and hard cash to enable them to be the top team not only in Britain but also Europe.

The rest of the clubs in the league are struggling to keep up with Arsenal's set-up and I think that Leeds United Ladies have done exceptionally well over the last few years without the support from our parent club. Perhaps in seasons to come that could change as United may see the benefits of being associated with a successful women's team.

There are murmurs from the FA that in the next couple of seasons a 'Super League' type structure will overhaul the current top tier of women's football. That would be incredible if we could go professional – playing for a franchised team in a league that would be shown on TV.

In fact I wish I were 10 years younger! The game is going from strength to strength and just needs a big push in the right direction.

I think you can see from the crowd that turned up at Nottingham Forest on Monday (25,000) and the audience watching on TV that people are interested in the women's game and that is great for the future.

The final was a result I would rather forget but the day itself makes me want to keep getting to finals.

It was a terrific atmosphere and you could really hear the Leeds fans chanting so if that was you, thanks so much for your support. It was greatly appreciated.

After the game we went in the players' lounge with all our families. In there was Lucy Ward's family (she had been doing the commentary for the BBC) including her little 21-month-old nephew Vincent. He was so excited when I got in, screeching and pointing at me. I realised why he was so happy, he had seen the big posters of me that were all round the room to promote the final.

I don't think he could believe I was there and there on the wall. The whole room collapsed into giggles as he ran toward the biggest poster pointing at it and me. I thought 'Aww I'll give him a cuddle' and put my arms out and he completely sidestepped me and ran towards his mum. Custard for Sue!

Hopefully I will be safe and sound back in England next week preparing for our last couple of games of the season.
