It's mixed joy for Rhinos

There were mixed fortunes for Leeds Rhinos' lower grade sides at the weekend.
A late try ended Rhinos reserves' 100 per cent record as they went down 28-24 at St Helens.

Tryscorers for Rhinos were man of the match James Archibald, Kashley Watkins, Ben Collins, Paul McShane and Ben Kaye. Simon Brown kicked two goals.

Rhin
os' under-18s are still waiting for their first point in the Academy championship, after a 38-32 home defeat by Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

James Barker crossed twice for Rhinos, who led 24-16 at half-time.

Tom Bush, Ryan Oxtoby, Chris Hindle and Brooke Broughton got their other tries, with Ryan Gaunt kicking four goals.

Danny Cowling scored a hat-trick for Wildcats, Josh Griffin added two tries and three goals and Dale Morton also crossed.

Leeds' under-16 Foundation Academy team won 18-12 at Harlequins.

The Leeds team scored tries through Ryan Wright, Clayton Stott, who later suffered a serious hand injury, Gareth Fairhead and Sam Teasdale, with Danny MacIntosh kicking one goal.

* Dual-code Australia international Wendell Sailor – who had a stint at Leeds Tykes – will return to rugby league after agreeing a deal with St George Illawarra Dragons.

The winger is free to play again after serving a two-year ban for taking cocaine.
