STAR Leeds Rhinos stand-off Danny McGuire admitted he breathed a sigh of relief after being cleared to play in Saturday's Carnegie Challenge Cup semi-final.
McGuire faced a possible ban after being accused of committing a high tackle on Les Catalans Dragons centre Sebastien Raguin during Rhinos' 37-24 win in Perpignan four days ago.

He was found guilty at an RFL disciplinary hearing yesterday and fined £300, but the panel decided not to impose a ban and McGuire is now available to face St Helens at Huddersfield's Galpharm Stadium in three days' time.

McGuire said: "It's a relief. As soon as I found out (about the charge) I had a lump in my stomach thinking I might miss the game.

"Now it's all out of the way, I am really pleased and I can concentrate on having a good week in training and playing well on Saturday."

The tackle happened as McGuire attempted to prevent Raguin scoring a first half try.

"I always thought it was just a bit careless, a bit of a grab more than anything," said the Leeds man.

"It was nothing malicious. The panel were good, they understood the situation and I had a fair hearing."

Rhinos coach Brian McClennan said the disciplinary committee's decision was "great news for our club".

He added: "We are all really happy. Danny is our stand off and a key player and now we can just look forward to the big game on Saturday."

The other semi-final sees Wakefield Trinity Wildcats take on Hull FC at the Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster on Sunday afternoon.
