Danny: Rhinos set for big push

STAR stand-off Danny McGuire believes Leeds Rhinos have given themselves a springboard for success in the engage Super League play-offs.
Successive wins over Castleford Tigers and Wigan Warriors have seen Rhinos run in 19 tries and 106 points and McGuire feels, with one round of the regular season left, they are hitting form at the right time.
Leeds' biggest ever win away to Wigan ended a run of five straight defeats by the Warriors and McGuire said the team are buzzing.
"We've talked about making a big push now," said McGuire. "All the teams that are vying for the top-six spots will be saying the same, really trying to hit some form in the last couple of games.
"You want to be firing for the play-offs and to go to Wigan and get 50 points is a great achievement. I can't remember the last time I went away from there happy.
"We were really pleased with how things went and it has set a good platform to build on for the next few weeks."
McGuire added: "We scored some really good tries and our defence was good.
"Wigan scored a break-away try and a try off a kick, so our defence is holding out really well and that's what wins you big games, when it comes to the play-offs.
"We were pleased, but we had a couple of lapses, so we'll look at that and we've got things to work on.
"I thought our attacking play was really good and our kicking game was outstanding, Rob's (Rob Burrow's) in particular. We are heading in the right direction."
Rhinos' recent points spree has come without leading try scorer Scott Donald, as well as fellow injury victims Ryan Bailey and Jamie Jones-Buchanan – and Ian Kirke also missed the Wigan romp.
"We've got a few people to come back in and that's what you need at the back end of the season, the whole squad firing," McGuire, pictured below, said.
"Hopefully we'll have everybody available for the next game, at Wakefield.
"If we have a full-strength team we are a match for anybody.
"We don't have a game at the weekend so we can get refreshed. We'll train hard during the week and then we can look forward to the last game and see where we end up."
