Garforth Golf Range pair Phil Boag and Danny Walsh missed out in a 13-team late-night play-off for the last seven spots in the North Region qualifier for the SkyCaddie PGA Fourball Championship at Woodsome Hall.
Former Leeds Open winner Ricky Masters (Baildon) and David Delaney (Halifax), one of the couples who tied on five under 65, made it to the final at Fulford in September via the sudden death battle that started at 7.45pm and which took six extra holes
and almost two hours to finalise.

Qualifiers: 58 – M Hamer (Ellesmere) and N Sargent (Eastham Lodge). 62 – D Brunton (Ringway) and J Cheetham (Gatley). 63 – M Bradley (Chorley) and P Walker (Knott End). 64 – J Cheetham (Marriott Worsley Pk) and J Barr (Chilli Dip GA); M Bradley (Notts) and S Betteridge (Kilton Forest); D Shacklady (Mossock Hall) and G Donnison (Mobberley).

After play-off: 65 – S Edwards (Clays) and P Carman (Huddersfield); V Guest (Teesside) and G Bell (Eaglescliffe); A Turner( Knaresborough) and A Stevenson (Mersey Valley); W Crellin (Jenkins Golf Ltd) and J Lupton (Middlesbrough); N Baron (Seddiner See) and S Holden (True Fit Golf); R Masters (Baildon) and D Delaney (Halifax). Colin Maroney (Harwood) and Sean Owen (Bolton Old Links).

Horsforth's charity am-am has raised £10,000 for the New Bexley Wing at St James's Hospital, Leeds, and took the total raised by the club over 17 years of the event, the brainchild of member Danny Kitching, to more than £175,000.

Cookridge Hospital had previously benefited from the event.

The Outcasts team of T Hirst, D Vine, S Vine and J Pearson racked up a winning 91 points, each receiving a 26in flat screen TV.

Andy Purdy travelled from Cambridge to play, holed in one at the 11th and donated £100 to the kitty.

Cookridge Hall will host an event in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance on August 25.
