Curtis Cup player Jodi Ewart kick-started England's campaign in the European Ladies' team championship with a superb course record of six-under par 66 at Stengungsund, Sweden.
Ganton's Naomi Edwards, the Yorkshire champion, is in a six-strong team that ended the first round a shot behind leaders Spain.

Edwards' club-mate Carolyn Kirk is in England's team for the European Senior championship at Wouwse Plantage in Holland on September 2 to 5.

Pat Wrightson, the Yorkshire Seniors champion from Huddersfield, is reserve.
