Steve Cain, the Leeds Union team player, marked a memorable year at club level by winning four major competitions, including the club championship and Golfer of the Year title.
The plus one handicap man twice broke the Scarcroft course record this season. He shot a 66 in June then went two shots lower than that in August.
Together with captain Tony Cole, Chris Day and Dean Moran, Cain took Scarcroft to a Leeds Past Presi
dent's Cup triumph, winning through four rounds before beating Horsforth in the final.
Meanwhile, Marcus Armitage claimed his first professional win when he teamed with Howley Hall junior Lee Morrisroe to finish top in the Leeds Alliance fourball. They posted 44 stableford points to finish a point clear.

Wakefield's Adrian Ambler shot 73 to tie fifth in the PGA North Region winter pro-am at Fairhaven, three strokes back from winner Steve Carter (South Staffs).

Finally, golfing legend Seve Ballesteros continues to make progress after surgery for brain tumour and has been moved out of intensive care in Madrid's La Paz Hospital.
A spokesman said: "The process is slow and he will still be in hospital for a while. "He is doing his regular rehabilitation."
