Gary Brown, the Ganton professional, and John Wells, from Cherry Burton, aim to prove their prowess as teammates when they challenge for the SkyCaddie PGA Fourball championship to be staged at Fulford over three days from next Wednesday.
Low scoring is customary at Fulford and that seems certain as players will use electronic range finders supplied by the sponsors.
This tournament was the first event to use the aid last year after they were sanctioned to be used in PGA events, th
ough amateur bodies have not followed suit.
Other Yorkshire pairings in the field are David Delaney (Halifax) and Ricky Masters (Baildon) and Guy Wills (Fulford) and Alastair Grindley (Aldwark Manor).
In addition, Huddersfield's Paul Carman teams with Simon Edwards, from Wrexham, and Knaresborough's Andy Turner links with Andy Stevenson, from Mersey Valley.
Meanwhile, a national tour strictly for single-figure handicap amateurs will be launched next season and will be previewed with an event at Woodhall Spa on October 7-8.
It will take the form of a match between an amateur team captained by former Amateur champion Peter McEvoy and Solheim Cup captain Alison Nicholas.
Her side includes includes former Ryder Cup men Paul Way, Steve Richardson, Philip Walton and Gordon Brand Jnr.
The SFG Tour commences in next spring and is open to anyone with a single-figure handicap. The intention is to create a global community of single figure golfers.
The climax to the SFG Tour each year, for Order Of Merit leaders, will be a two-day challenge event against former Tour golfers at a leading venue.
