Gordon J Brand can spend a relaxing winter after a great season on the European Seniors Tour which has brought him 257,744 euros and second place behind Ian Woosnam in the final order of merit.
He won two events over the year, back-to-back triumphs in August at the De Vere PGA championship at Slaley Hall and the Travis Perkins Senior Masters at Woburn, while Woosnam also won twice and earned 320,119 euros in his rookie season, finishing 62,
376 euros ahead of the Ilkley man.
Sam Torrance, who has struggled with a hand injury all season, won the Tour Championship on 13-under- par 203 to maintain his record of winning each year on the Senior Tour since his first full season in 2004.
The win moved Torrance up from 20th to eighth in the final order of merit, which he won in 2005 and 2006.
Race
Brand tied 33rd on four- over-par 220, rounds of 74 74 72 earning 2,835 euros.
The conclusion of the Senior Tour sees the focus fall on the race to join the ranks for next year with the start of the qualifying school on Portugal's Algarve today.
Two courses play host to the first stage with 72 players teeing up at Pinheiros Altos and 69 at Quinta de Cima.
From those 141, 55 move to final school at Pestana from November 17 to 20.
Meanwhile the West Yorkshire Alliance Christmas Texas Scramble at Huddersfield's Fixby Hall course has been confirmed for Wednesday, December 17.
The shotgun start event will be contested by a maximum 23 teams of one professional or assistant and three amateurs (handicap limit 20) at a cost of £120 per team.
