Help us to help you Get It Sorted!
PUBLIC-spirited Leeds folk keen to clean and clear up eyesores in their community were today urged to make their New Year's resolution a call to the column that gets things sorted.
The call to arms was made by the Consumerwatch desk as Get It Sorted celebrates yet another success story in helping householders clean up their communities.
Our latest victory is the clean up of a neglected area of land off Stanningley Road in Bramley which residents claimed was a real eyesore.
It takes our Get It Sorted success tally to 22 since the column was launched back in the summer.
Yorkshire Evening Post Consumer Reporter Andrew Hutchinson said: "The column is proving to be really popular among readers. It now has a string of success stories to its name but we are determined not to rest on our laurels.
Eyesores
"And that means relying on the support of our readers to keep pointing out the eyesores and gripes which continue to blight communities and reduce the quality of life for people across the city.
"Please get in touch. Our previous victories prove those who take the time and trouble to nominate a problem can make a difference to the quality of life in their neighbourhood."
Get It Sorted aims to give our readers the chance to turn the spotlight on public areas in Leeds that are in disrepair or have been damaged. We will then seek to put pressure on the relevant authorities to get it sorted.
Each complaint will feature in Consumerwatch and will continue to appear each week until it's sorted.
And there will be a running reminder of how long it's taking for action.
l Remember you can catch up on all the Get It Sorted successes at www.leedstoday.net.
