Nest building

In recent times clocks have been left on the shelf in favour of more glamorous wall hangings, but things are changing. The clocks of today have undergone a design overhaul and are fighting back for their space in the most chic homes.

Take the Mr White station wall clock for example – a stylish take on a useful household item. Even Suzy Hoodless, former editor of Wallpaper magazine who now runs her own prestigious design consultancy, is a fan of this timepiece.

If traditional is more your style opt for something like the Blackworth clock which has a much more vintage feel.

Both clocks are available from Barker and Stonehouse, visit www. barkerandstonehouse.co.uk for more details.

The Prodigy

Invaders Must Die – Special Edition

It's been a great year for The Prodigy.

After being out in the wilderness for a great deal of the noughties, when main shouty man Keith Flint must have thought that he couldn't get arrested no matter how aggressively he styled his hair or danced around in tunnels, the ultimate rave act rediscovered their mojo down the back of their sampler.

Invaders Must Die was the result, a frenetic explosion of boombastic beats, stabbing synths and menacing proclaimations that was gratefully received by music fans hungry for a big, daft, danceable racket.

If the clutch of storming singles – Omen, Warrior's Dance and Take Me To The Hospital – haven't already tempted you into buying the album, then the new Special Edition should seal the deal.

Alongside the original album, the new package includes bonus tracks lifted from main man Liam Howlett's scarce Lost Beats EP, a whole CD of remixes from the likes Sub Focus, Chase & Status and Josh Homme, and a DVD featuring videos and live shows.

Eat it

National Curry Week starts on Sunday, so here's the perfect hot recipe:

Meatball Aloo Ghobi

Serves: Makes 14 meatballs

Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

450g (1lb) Lean lamb mince

15mlsp (1tbsp) Oil

1 Onion, roughly chopped

2 x 15 mlsp (2tbsp) Medium curry powder

2 X 15 mlsp (2tbsp) Tomato puree

½ Small cauliflower, cut in to small florets

2 Medium potatoes, peeled and cut in to cubes

2 x 400g (approx) Cans chopped tomatoes

2 Large handfuls spinach

15mlsp (1tbsp) Mango chutney

To cook:

Take a large pan and heat oil. Add onion and cook for 1-2 minutes until softening slightly.

Add the curry powder, tomato puree, cauliflower and potato and coat all ingredients in the curry powder. Add the chopped tomatoes.

Take small handfuls of the mince and shape into balls – should make about 14 balls. Place on top of the vegetables. Place the lid on the pan and shake to mix ingredients slightly.

Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.

Carefully stir the meatballs and vegetables coating all the ingredients with the juice.

Replace the lid and cook for a further 10 minutes, adding spinach after 5 minutes.

To serve:

Stir through mango chutney and serve with pilau rice.

Get fit

Each week top trainer Richard Hill gives you his exercise advice:

"It's always tough to stay on top of your exercise, especially when you leave work to find it's already cold and dark, making you just want to get home.

"The key is to make an appointment of some kind. Book a class, arrange to meet a friend or book an appointment with a personal trainer. That way, you are more likely to get off the sofa and feel great."

For more information on Richard's classes visit www.richardhill.org.uk or www.funclasses.co.uk .

Please consult your GP before embarking on a new exercise programme.
