Anjum Anand

Anjum's Eat Right For Your Body Type (Quadrille, £14.99)

It's scarcely believable that Anjum Anand could ever have had a weight problem, but in her early 20s she was overweight and a serial dieter.

She eventually lost all the weight but it took a while to discover the diet she should follow both to lose and to maintain weight loss.

Finally, she found the solution, not from modern Western science or diet experts, but in the Indian system of Ayurveda – the oldest and most holistic medical system on the planet.

It recognises three body types and, once you've established your basic body type, you can not only find the diet that will best suit you (and get your body back into shape) but also correct any imbalances to resolve eating and digestive disorders, sleep problems and many other illnesses.

In this groundbreaking new diet book, Anjum shows how to work out your body type, the foods you should eat (or avoid) and how to combine them into delicious recipes for every meal.

Various Artists

Nu Disco: The Future Sound of Disco

FOR what they are billing as a 'nu' decade, well-established club brand Hed Kandi bring us two CDs full of the latest disco-flavoured dance sounds. Take this new sub-genre, which they are calling 'nu disco', to mean artists who bring a bit of finger-poking sass and hip-thrusting shimmy to conventional contemporary dance tracks.

Don't expect to have heard of the likes of Holy Ghost, Phonat, Shena or Long Distance Analogue (although eagle-eyed dance fans might recognise Crazy P from Leeds label 2020Vision), but do expect to recognise the familiar sounds of slap bass, slick guitar licks, handclaps and wibbly synths that lend a disco sheen to these tunes.

Standout tracks include Tesla Boy's Electric Lady, Stretch Sylvester's Faith, Roy Davis Jr's I Have A Vision, Chris B & Vee Scott's Joy and Chromeo's Night by Night, but if they still leave you with an appetite for more recognisable tunes there are a handful of shakedowns of non-dance chart bands with The Temper Trap, Passion Pit, Editors and Grizzly Bear all getting the nu disco treatment from renowned remixers like Felix Da Housecat, Greg Wilson and Fred Falke.

Nest building

Glass can make a very pretty addition to your home. It can be introduced in a number of different ways and in a whole host of different colours which for this spring's on-trend bold and colourful look is perfect.

A plain-looking room can be instant-ly turned into a colourful one simply by buying small glass vases in different colours; these can be placed on a windowsill, coffee table or on shelves. Stick to one of these rather than all and line the glasses up.

For an extra special look, add in some tea lights which will create a brilliant atmosphere when lit.

Alternatively, hang glass shapes in the window, these will catch the light and reflect it against the walls in the room for a pretty effect.
