Moxon: Take it easy with Yorkshire pair

Martyn Moxon is urging England bosses to go easy on star duo Adil Rashid and Tim Bresnan this winter – to ensure they don't suffer burn-out next season.
Both players have been handed international working briefs in the close season, after being named in the 15-man England performance squad to tour India.
It represents a consolation prize for Bradford-born ace Rashid – a revelation for Yorkshire in the second half of the season – who missed out on a Test mission to the sub-continent.
The pair will fly out with the rest of the performance squad towards the end of November and as well as playing matches and training during the month in India will be considered back-up players to the full touring party.
Bresnan will also be part of an England team competing in the Hong Kong VIs tournament in November.
Yorkshire director of cricket Moxon is understandably concerned that the pair are not given an overly heavy workload following a non-stop domestic season when the Tykes mainstays have hardly had time to draw breath.
And he will outline his concerns to ECB chiefs before his prized duo jet off to India.
He said: "People have got to be mindful that both of them need a break, they need some down-time and recovery time. I'll be talking to the ECB about that and they've got to be careful. We don't want a burn-out situation with both of them.
"It's been an arduous English summer for both of them and seasons like we've had take it out of people.
"And Adil certainly could do with a couple of weeks away and a complete break from cricket at some stage, so that he comes back strong in the New Year.
"As long as they are managed carefully, the tour will be a benefit to them. But we don't want them coming back tired.
"Bressy suffered from that going into last winter, but we were kind of fortunate as he got injured before the development tour."
A host of cricketing pundits had tipped Rashid for Test honours on the back of a marvellous second half of 2008, which saw the leg-spinner plunder 50 runs.
But, despite the snub, Moxon insists it's a case of when, not if, Rashid gets the call.
He said: "I don't think it's the end of the world by any means.
"Personally, I'm not too disappointed because if Adil continues to develop like he has been, it's a case of when, not if, he gets a call-up.
"I think there is a danger he could play too early and it could set him back. There's always that to consider.
"The pleasing thing is that he's continued to improve from last year and his curve is upwards.
"He's maturing all the time and learning about his own game and the rewards have been there in the second half of the season.
"I'm sure he'll take things in his stride and continue to work hard and learn and I'm sure he'll eventually get picked."
Meanwhile, Yorkshire have handed out-of-contract bowler Deon Kruis a 10-day deadline to resolve his future after giving him a "take-it-or-leave-it" new 12-month deal.
The Tykes are keen to keep the South African but the veteran seamer is currently weighing up his options after being targeted by rival counties.
