England will today name their 15-man squad for Kevin Pietersen's maiden tour as Test captain and arguably his toughest challenge since inheriting the job.
With his predecessor Michael Vaughan out of the reckoning for the two matches in India in December on grounds of form, focus will be on the identity of the back-up batsman.

Given the fondness the current selectors have for consistency, that should mean the retention of Ravi Bopara, who was called up due to Vaughan's absence for the final npower Test victory over South Africa at the Brit Oval last month.

The selection of the second spinner and extra pace bowler are not so clear cut.

The likelihood is that both places will be filled by Nottinghamshire players with off-spinner Graeme Swann taken in reserve for Monty Panesar and Ryan Sidebottom returning to the fold.
