IMOGEN D'Arcy was much like any other teenager. She enjoyed sport, music and shopping, was doing well at school and popular among her friends.
But she was also shy and sensitive, at an age when many youngsters are struggling to find their own identity.
Her mother Susan stressed to the 13-year-old what a difficult time the early teenage years can be, reassuring her that in time she would
grow more confident, more sure of her place in the world.
Yet tragically Imogen did not live long enough to find out. On Decem-ber 1 last year she was found with a computer cord around her neck.
Stunned and grasping for answers in the wake of her death, her family discovered she had trawled suicide websites.
These sick sites list ways to take your own life, encourage visitors to hide their feelings of desperation from loved ones and tell them they are essentially worthless.
Now Imogen's family are calling on the Government to take steps to make them illegal. And the Yorkshire Evening Post supports them. As Susan says, if something good can come out of this then her daughter's death will not have been in vain.
Please sign our petition today and back our campaign to get these sites shut down for good.
Sadly it is too late to save Imogen. But your support might just stop another vulnerable young life being lost.
Ban these thugsCOWARDLY thugs carried out an appalling attack on a Leeds United pub.
A gang of 30 Manchester United fans smashed up the Leeds Arms, causing staff to flee the Benidorm bar in terror.
The yobs ripped memorabilia from the walls and chanted songs insulting the memory of Leeds supporters Kevin Loftus and Christopher Speight who were stabbed to death in Turkey in 2000.
Landlord Lee Bland now faces a huge repairs bill and is out of pocket after having to shut for three days. Insurance money will cover most of the damage but memorabilia donated by Leeds all over the world cannot be replaced.
It is ironic when Leeds United fans are so often vilified that this unprovoked attack should come from followers of a rival club.
These despicable fans are a disgrace to the team they claim to support. If Manchester United officials identify who they were they should be banned from Old Trafford for life.
