Electronics firm returning to city

ELECTRONICS retailer Superfi is returning to Leeds after Nottingham solicitors Fraser Brown secured the lease on premises in the city centre.

Superfi's new shop is in Vicar Lane and solicitors from Fraser Brown's commercial property team arranged a 10-year lease on the property.

Superfi has been trading for over 70 years selling a range of consumer electronics via a network of shops ac
ross the country and via the internet.

The company previously had a shop in Leeds but needed to re-locate and after a two year search says it has finally found the right location.

Mark appointed sales manager

WIDESPREAD Solutions, the Harrogate-based air filtration and extraction system firm, has appointed Mark Bamforth as UK sales manager.

The firm, established in 1986, is an independent UK manufacturer specialising in the control and removal of contaminated air to provide a cleaner, healthier working environment.

Mr Bamforth has more than 15 years of experience in the air engineering and health and safety sector and his appointment is linked to the business's plans to move further into the education, dental and industrial markets.

Chief executive, Doug Taylor, said: "Mark's appointment is a strategic move to further cement our market position and grow our market share."

Media group launches guide

HARROGATE-based media group Barker Brooks is launching the latest version of its popular Apprenticeship Guide.

Supported by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and the Government, the Apprenticeship Guide 2009 will be available from this October. As well as providing information on the vast range of apprenticeships available, it also guides young people through the application process, providing contact information for regional training providers and other useful organisations.

In addition, teachers can take advantage of the accompanying free website www.apprenticeshipguide.co.uk which gives a full listing of apprenticeships and also provides useful lesson material.
