THE CHARTERED Management Institute's North East, Yorkshire and Humberside regional convention is taking place on May 22 at Oulton Hall in Leeds.

The theme is Creating Dynamic Leadership and the event will include a keynote address from business journalist and entrepreneur, Steve Parks.

There will also be a number of workshops.

GE Commercial's new acquisition
GE Commercial Finance's business finance unit, a leading independent finance provider to UK small and medium-sized enterprises, has acquired Five Arrows Commercial Finance Ltd – a major, UK-based asset-based lender and factoring house with offices in Leeds. Five Arrows was acquired from NM Rothschild & Sons Ltd for an undisclosed sum.

The business is one of the top 10 providers of invoice discounting, factoring and asset-based lending solutions to small and mid-market businesses in the UK, with over 400 clients and more than £175m of assets under management.

Lupton Fawcett seminar on way

LEEDS commercial law firm Lupton Fawcett will hold its annual employment law update seminar at the Cedar Court Hotel, Bradford, on Wednesday, June 4.

The free seminar, from 10am to 2pm, will cover recent developments in redundancy law and age discrimination, as well as an update on the proposals to replace the statutory disciplinary procedure.

New CCTV help

INSTALLATION of a new digital CCTV system has enhanced security provision for companies based at the award-winning Broughton Hall Business Park, near Skipton.

The 25-camera system has been designed and installed by Keighley-based Keybury Security Systems.
