A LEEDS firm which specialises in storing caravans has set out on a major expansion programme.
Leeds Caravan Storage Ltd has acquired a caravan storage site in Worksop in a £825,000 deal funded by NatWest.

The new site boasts 5.8 acres of caravan storage and a four-bedroom house and currently has the capacity to accommodate 380 caravans, to
uring caravans and motor homes.

Leeds Caravans Storage Ltd plans to invest over the next few years to create an additional 120 pitches.

The company is also considering expanding the business to include an on-site caravan workshop and a shop selling ancillary goods.

Leeds Caravan Storage Ltd was founded in 2001 by husband and wife team Paul and Karen McFadden.

Portfolio

The latest acquisition increases the number of storage sites in the company's portfolio to two – the other site – in the middle of the Kirkstall Valley in Leeds and has the capacity to store 271 caravans, touring caravans and motor homes.

The McFaddens' aim is to grow Leeds Caravan Storage Ltd further by acquiring existing caravan storage sites and or pieces of land suitable for development – they are currently looking at a plot of land in Yorkshire to create a third caravan storage site.

According to the Caravan Club, caravanning is now one of the most popular paid-for holidays in the UK and with increasing awareness of the environmental cost of travelling abroad people are turning to caravans rather than going abroad. Caravan dealers have reported a 60 per cent increase in sales.

Karen McFadden said: "The new site in Worksop is a well-established business that has provided a great service to its customer base for over 20 years."
