A NETWORK for food producers in the north of England, which has the support of the Prince of Wales, has secured a £45,000 investment from Wakefield-based Partnership Investment Finance (PIF).

Feast Net Ltd, based in Gargrave, near Skipton, was launched in February 2005 by Rebecca Roberts and links farmers, growers and producers with retailers, chefs and consumers to deliver locally grown produce to Yorkshire schools from its two distribut
ion hubs. It has a contract to supply fresh fruit and vegetables to schools in Leeds and North Yorkshire, valued at £1m per year.

It received an initial loan of £15,000 from PIF in September 2007 for working capital purposes and to enable Rebecca to take on another full-time member of staff.

The second loan from PIF of £30,000 will allow the company to invest in a website.
