THE 2008 Yorkshire Property Awards raised more than £163,000 for the Yorkshire Region of the Variety Club Children's Charity.
More than 800 property professionals attended the sell-out event at Rudding Park Hotel, Harrogate.
Awards presented on the night included Property Deal of the Year, which went to a joint venture between Caddick and Land Securities to develop the T
rinity Quarter in Leeds, with Best Regeneration Project going to Waystone for its work at Glasshoughton, Castleford.
Best Commercial Development went to Clarence Dock, Leeds, and Roland Stross, director of CTP St James, was named Yorkshire Property Personality of the Year.
The event is a major fund raiser for the on-going work carried out by the Variety Club across the region, to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged and disabled children.
Its organisation was led by Variety Club committee members Duncan Syers, John Sutcliffe and Maxine Webb (regional administrator for the Yorkshire Region of the Variety Club) and Paula Dillon, representing the awards' main sponsor, law firm Addleshaw Goddard.
Paula Dillon said: "Although the UK commercial property market is currently going through a challenging period, the fantastic turnout at the Yorkshire Property Awards is proof of the region's determination to look to the future with confidence."
