Carnegie-based athletics coach Wilf Paish has been invited to become a 'Companion' of the Institute of Recreation Managers.
The award for services to coaching will be made during the ISRM conference and exhibition at Alton Towers on November 13.

Paish was trained at Carnegie College over 50 years ago and has trained more than 100 athletes including Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth medallists.

Awarded an MBE in 2005 for services for sport, Paish is in the twilight of his career but still coaches a number of senior and junior athletes at Beckett Park.
