Leeds City go for clean sweep

LEEDS CITY will be looking to complete a clean sweep of cross country titles when they defend their crown in the English Cross Country Championship at Alton Towers tomorrow.
They had a crushing victory last year when David Webb led them home in 14th place and had their six counting runners in the top 36.

James Wilkinson leads Leeds City in their junior title challenge for team medals following their Northern win.#

Michael Wood led the Leeds under-15 team to victory in the Northern and they will be looking for medals at National level whilst Wakefield are Yorkshire's leading challengers in the under-17 race.

Wakefield's Lauren Proctor, a Northern winner, leads a strong Yorkshire contingent in the under-15 girls race.

The National Junior Indoor Championships take place tomorrow and Sunday at Birmingham.

From Leeds City, Umar Hameed is listed for both sprints in the under-20 age group with Tom Mosley lined up for the under-17 sprints and Tom Casey is a contender in the under-20 hurdles.
