England full-back Zak Hardaker has been named Castleford Tigers' player of the year.

The former Man of Steel, signed from Leeds Rhinos, received his award at Tigers’ presentation evening at Elland Road.

Hardaker was also players’ player of the year, with Grant Millington being runner-up and Luke Gale and Paul McShane in joint third place.

Fans’ player of the year was Ben Roberts, the directors’ award went to Jake Webster and Greg Minikin took the young player honour.

Luke Gale was awarded League Express newspaper’s Albert Goldthorpe medal for the third successive year.

A special presentation was made to prop Andy Lynch, who will retire at the end of the season.

Academy award winners were: Shooting Star, Robbie Storey; most improved player, Luis Johnson; coaches’ player, Pat Diskin; players’ player, Jake Trueman.
