Kalvin Phillips makes Leeds United vow as England midfielder assesses next Premier League aim

United signed off for the March international break by taking themselves on to 39 points through Friday's 2-1 victory at Fulham which sent Leeds 11th and 13 points clear of the drop zone with just nine games left.
Leeds have also played one game less than third-bottom Fulham but head coach Marcelo Bielsa insists that United's Premier League safety is still not yet assured and Phillips said there would be no taking the foot off the pedal - even during the international break.

Hide AdUnited have eight senior first team players away with their countries including Phillips who is with Gareth Southgate's England squad ahead of three World Cup qualifiers in the space of seven days, starting with Thursday night's clash against San Marino at Wembley.
Leeds will return to Premier League action a week on Saturday with the Yorkshire derby at home to bottom-placed Sheffield United.
Friday's win at Craven Cottage also followed the previous weekend's goalless draw against high-flying Chelsea at Elland Road.
Asked what was next for Leeds after accumulating 39 points - whether it was a case of aiming for a place in the top half or just finishing as high as they can - Phillips told Premier League Publications: “Just take every game as it comes.

“There’s a little bit of a break now but it doesn’t mean we aren’t going to go and work hard, so hopefully we’ll just carry on.”
