JM: “Unfortunately, we lost Rodri for 6-8 weeks, as we announced yesterday.Adam we are building up but not ready yet. Stuart Dallas is making progress, and Archie picked up a small injury and he won’t be available.”

JM: “I always feel it’s our responsibility to manage these guys, you want them to stay out of harm. We have been pretty good with muscular injuries, but this one was a contact injury that caused a small fracture in the bottom of his fibia.

“You can’t avoid that kind of injury. We think maybe we should have kept him out, but then we wanted to work with Patrick Bamford and him together. The good news is that Patrick is looking good, and this is the reason we went out to sign Georginio, who is looking really good.”

JM: “He is intelligent, and it will take time to adapt, but I’m pleased with what I’ve seen.”

JM: “For me, it’s totally on our process. It’s clear our group is coming together in a really strong way. We can’t avoid the topic of what the table is. It’s very tight, and it makes the match against Nottingham very important.

“But we have created a process where we concentrate on ourselves, and now it’s time to focus on our results. If you go through our last seven games, we have only lost one. We are on an uptick, and we will keep pushing.”

What happened with Jack Harrison?

JM: “It’s time to talk about transfers, I guess. How I would decide it, in the 11th hour, something came from Leicester. We had been talking with jack for a while about renogitating his contract. It has gone well but it has kind of stalled at moments.

“We have spent a lot of money, and then in the 11th hour there was conversation after the interest. But in the end, we wanted Jack here and he wanted to stay. We are looking at the contract situation, and he has earned it.

“He is an important player. In the end, we all came together intelligently to decide we wanted him to stay, and Jack agreed.I think when it came so late, and you looked at how we spent money, we were trying to contemplate whether it was the right money, and Jack was away.

“For us, it was a chance to solidify how we feel about Jack, and how he feels about us. He has learned how invested the club is in him. I don’t fault anyone for visiting what a big offer could be, but we aligned ourselves in how we see Jack.”

“We felt like Rodri was hurt, Jack is an important player. he has played more minutes than any other player since I’ve been here. It was late and we had to get everyone aligned. “

JM: “Yes, he is.”

Harrison’s new contract, is his head clear after what has happened?

JM: “Yeah, I think his head is really clear. It was a chance for everyone to express how important he is for us. I wish my wife would show a vote in confidence in me the way we have in Jack in the last 48 hours.”

JM: “We go to a rival in the table, and it’s a moment for us to show that we are ready for bigger challenges. We have grown over the last six weeks.”
