1. Food parcels for NHS workers
After council-run museums and galleries shut, they teamed up with The Real Junk Food Project to donate food from their cafes. It is being used to make parcels for NHS workers.
2. Collecting for local food banks
Grimes Dyke Primary School headteacher Louise Hill organised a food bank collection to coincide with a non-uniform day. The response from parents, carers and staff was amazing.
3. Raising a smile on hospital wards
Nando's in Cardigan Fields, Kirkstall, rang staff at a Leeds hospital to ask if they would like some free food. The chain delivered 80 chicken wings and spicy rice to the ward.
4. Hosting our hospitality workers
Hyde Park Book Club cooked up a free dinner for bar, restaurant and hospitality workers in Leeds as they face uncertain times ahead.
5. Leeds fans digging deep
Fans got behind an appeal by Leeds United Supporters' Trust for two food banks. More than 2,000 was raised in around 48 hours, bringing the total so far to more than 10,000.
6. Home deliveries for the vulnerable
Bramhope Village Bakery and Village Pizza have extended their discounts to all NHS staff. The bakery is also offering home deliveries to Bramhopes most vulnerable residents.
