Leeds nostalgia: The 1970s... through the lens of Leodis

It's very tempting sometimes to think of the past as being purely in black and white but these pictures from the Leodis archive show clearly that the 1970s was in colour.

Soot stained buildings and old fashioned shops are very much a part of this view of Woodhouse Lane and there is this great view down Quarry Street in 1975.

Children in flares inhabited Ganton Mount in the same year and in 1976 rags, bones and scrap were collected by horse in the Providence Road and Pennington Street area.
