Ms Rufino, who was known as Guida, had suffered severe neck injuries while Mr Roberts had a severe stab wound to his leg. Attempts to revive him failed.
While they have not confirmed that the incident was a murder-suicide, police have said they are not looking for anyone else.
Ms Rufino was described as a “devoted” mother to a two-year-old girl, who was at a relative’s house when the couple died.
