Three suspected illegal immigrants arrested after van stopped in north east Leeds

Three men suspected of being in the UK illegally have been arrested in Leeds.

Officers from Leeds Special Constabulary stopped a van in Roundhay Road on Friday, May 8.

The driver did not have a licence and was uninsured.

Officers then conducted immigration status checks on the three Albanian men in the van.

Later, the Special Constabulary posted on Twitter that the three men had been arrested.

They said: "Three males from Albania arrested on suspicion of being in the UK illegally.

"Currently in custody awaiting processing by Immigration service."
