Police officers handed out 23 tickets to drivers in one day during a traffic operation at Hyde Park Corner in Leeds.

The junction has had a new road layout for several months, police said.

However, many drivers did not comply with the new layout and made left and right turns that are no longer permitted.

Police handed out 23 tickets to the drivers on Sunday, May 9.

The force issued a statement on social media to warn other drivers.

They said the new layout is: "When approaching the junction from Headingley Lane, or Woodhouse Lane, It is no longer permitted to turn left or right on to Woodhouse Street or Hyde Park Road."

West Yorkshire Police urged the public to be aware of this change and "follow the new signage".
