Shaun: “We’ve been looking for 15 months for somewhere to create a fantastic destination bar. The location is perfect - it’s between Call Lane and Lower Briggate, where all the cool bars are.”

The inside is being reconfigured to create an upper and lower bar, increasing the bar servery by a third and providing seating for 86 with an overall capacity of 450 people. At the front, there will be railway carriage style seating with pendant lighting in the windows, as well as a sumptuous mix of velvet and leather covered booths, seating up to six people each. Steps will lead down to the lower bar which will have a mix of seating including booths, a comfy

snug corner and plenty of room to dance.

Eugene said: “The building is superb. It’s got real character and lots of interesting spaces to develop over time and we’ve got some great ideas for them!”

The décor will have a modern industrial look and feel, with polished plaster walls, concrete polished flooring, and a striking metal back bar display. The look both contrasts with and complements the luxurious seating.
